Rihanna's NEW YEAR..

RIHANNA’S NEW YEAR
By Colton Young
Rihanna surely has started out the new year strong, with January 25th making her the next female to have her own perfume. Rihanna’s perfume, Reb’l Fleur was launched only in Macy’s.
Rihanna proves to be a positive role model for young women as she talks about the frangrance.
"I believe a woman should dare to be different, willing to live her life for herself and not for other people; this fragrance is about my passion for individuality and being expressive and empowering, yes, but also emotional and intriguing. I promise you Reb’l Fleur will not be easily forgotten." Rihanna stated in press release.
Rihanna addresses the origin of “her scent.”  “Over the years, I layered many different scents to get something that was truly my own,” Rihanna tells People mag. “But I wanted  something that said ‘Rihanna was here.’ Something delicious and special, a fragrance with subtle hints that linger and leave a sexy memory.”
The scent is definitely something that is breath-taking, something that is different, something that is sexy, speaking from personal opinion. Discoveries found that the frangrance is only $49 for a 1.7oz bottle.
The fragrance is an intense and daring fruity chypre, composed of sophisticated floral notes, tuberose, violet and hibiscus, with a splash of coconut water,  over the light and smooth base, the combination of the final notes evokes the impression of warm skin. The perfume was created by Caroline Sabas and Marypierre Julien of Givaudan.
It surely demonstrates the beauty of the Caribbean origin of the “S&M” songstress.
Premiering on February 1st was Rihanna’s newest music video, “S&M”, which has reportedly been banned in 11 countries because of its controversial manner.
It seemed to be more colorful and playful, rather than “racy” or “hardcore.” You-tube has marked the video as inappropriate for viewers under the age of 18.. The video is something that brought the singer attention, once more.
In the first scene of the video, the ‘press’ takes the Bajan singer in a newspaper inspired gown and puts her in Saran wrap in front of a large number of microphones like a press conference, while the reporters are gagged. Perez Hilton, the celebrity-bashing blogger made a cameo appearance in the video as a Rihanna’s ‘pet’ in the next scene. The following scene has somewhat of a darker take, because Rihanna is in a skin bearing body suit while she tortures the members of the ‘press.’ The Barbadan next plays a PlayBoy Bunny while headlines fly around her.
Regardless of the success or controversy, Rihanna definitely gets the attention that promotes her career.
